We know you love your handcrafted Juttis from The Desi Darzi, and you want to keep their extraordinaire beauty for years to come. If you buy quality Juttis and treat them right, they can last a lifetime.
Here is a super-practical guide to keep your Jutti looking brand new, every time you wear them.
TIP 1: DON’T WEAR THE SAME JUTTI, 2 DAYS IN A ROW
Why?, because it’s not a good idea.
The leather-make of your Jutti needs time to rest, and allowing it to do so will increase its lifespan.
TIP 2: DON’T PILE THEM OVER ONE ANOTHER
Those beautiful shoe closets on Instagram with neatly placed footwear are a practical reality. We suggest you to not pile your Jutti over one another or stuff them into a box. Doing so dismantles their shape and gives way to those unwanted creases and spots on the face of your Jutti.
TIP 3: BRUSH YOUR JUTTI EVERY 3rd TIME
The make and design of most Juttis is such that dust and dirt pile up easily. Regular brushing of the surface of your Jutti with light pressure will keep it looking fresh.
Use a brush or toothbrush with soft bristles as the hard ones might damage the embroidered or embedded designs.
TIP 4: LET THEM BREATHE
Do not return your Jutti back to its box or closet, immediately after use! Leave them in an airy, ventilated area to breathe. It will prevent wrinkling of the leather surface and get rid of smell and moisture from sweat.
TIP 5 : STAINS ! STAINS ! STAINS!
We heard that emotional cry right away! We all have those stories of little stains ruining our most treasured accessories. Technically there are three types of stains, water stains, oil stains and the anonymous ones! Here is how you try to get rid of them:
Dip a soft cotton ball in water and apply it all over the stains. Try to blend in the stain completely into the rest of the surrounding area. Use dry cotton or sponge repeatedly to blot all the moisture.
Important: Let the Jutti dry in open.
Oil and Grease Stains
Sprinkle corn starch over the stain and let it soak up the excess oil overnight. Scrub the stain out with brush, the next day.
Warning: This can cause a little discoloration in darker colors.
Dab some vinegar on the affected area and blot dry the whole surface. Let it dry and brush the area thoroughly.
P.S. Happy shoes create happy moods!
